On Sunday, 19 March 2023, pickleball was officially introduced to Moldova. The event was organized as a Ukrainian refugee socialization event with local NGOs, local businesses, and the squash and paddle clubs in Chișinău, Moldova and Iasi, Romania.

In a particularly moving example, the team learned of a dairy farmer who slaughtered his only cow to feed the refugees he had taken into his home. Our team tracked down the farmer and arrived at his home days later with a cow purchased by Friends of Moldova.
