Odesa National Technical University (ONEU), in collaboration with the American Multinational Jewish Federation (AMJF), is ingeniously repurposing bomb shelters into modern classrooms. This strategic initiative comes in response to the enduring challenges posed by both the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s conflict with Ukraine. Despite the adversities, ONEU is committed to facilitating the return of students to in-person learning.

Given the persistent threat of airstrikes in Odesa and the frequent air raid alerts, ONEU and AMJF are proactively enhancing university bomb shelters to serve as resilient spaces for both face-to-face instruction and remote learning. This innovative approach ensures that education remains uninterrupted, offering students a secure and conducive environment for their academic pursuits amidst challenging circumstances.
